Mitzi Claire Bailey Stout, 87, of Brock, Texas, died Saturday, the 22nd of October, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was known as Mitzi to her friends, Grans to her grandchildren, and GG to her great-grandchildren. Mitzi was born October 20, 1929 in West Palm Beach, Florida to George P. Bailey and Virginia Ensey (Dearest) Bailey. She grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana, attending Byrd High School, followed by Louisiana Tech University. It was there that she met Edward L. Stout who she later fell in love with and married. Mitzi focused her life on her faith, her marriage, her love of family, and her friends whom she loved and remained in contact with throughout her life. She exuded kindness, love, and compassion to every person she came in contact with. She had an indescribable gift of touching people's hearts. One could never deny her beautiful smile and her genuine and comforting manner. She saw the best in everyone. Throughout her life, while raising four children, Mitzi also devoted much time to charities she loved, such as the Texas Girl's Choir, and volunteered countless hours with her church. Mitzi had a great love of nature, and of animals, which was often depicted in her beautiful paintings. She was an amazing cook and if you walked through her door, you were often greeted by wonderful aromas coming from the kitchen, her warm smile, and a loving hug. She and Ed enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Throughout their years together, Mitzi supported him every step of the way during his career with Acme Brick Company. With numerous geographical moves, Mitzi made every new place a warm and loving home for her family. During his 26 years as President, in Fort Worth, she was by his side at all times, from organizing large affairs, to making a pot of chili for the company's football tailgate. She was the quintessential hostess who made everyone feel welcomed and valued. Mitzi never sought nor wanted the limelight, but due to her grace, humility, beauty, and talent, it always found her.
