Louis David Stone, Jr. of Sheridan, Arkansas was born June 15, 1937 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of the late Louis David Stone, Sr. and Martha Alice Kirk Stone. He was a member of Lost Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Sheridan, Arkansas Cattlemen's Association and American Legion Post #0001. He had served proudly in the US Army for 42 years. After retirement, he enjoyed tending to his chickens and cows on his farm. He loved to go fishing and was known as the #1 prankster to family, friends and foe. Mr. Stone died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton at the age of 79. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Stone, and second wife, Mary Stone; sister, Mary Alice Stone; brothers, Ervin, Billy, Michael, Richard, Kenny, and Edward Stone. Survivors: son, David Michael Stone of Nashville, Tennessee; daughter, Sharon Kay Stone, son-in-law, Triple Nickle of Sheridan; sister, Sharon Sue Ghozati of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Rolland Daley, Brittini Daley, Ashley Stone and Chris Stone; special niece, Kimberly Beales and a host of other nieces, nephews and great-nieces, and great nephews, church family and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Click officiating. Burial will follow at Lost Creek Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
