Mary Carroll

Mary Corinne Carroll, 79, of Fayetteville died April 14, 2017. She was born September 12, 1937 in Beebe, Ark. to the late Kenneth Earl Lea and Christine Anabel Beckham. After an early childhood in Arkansas, Kansas, and Michigan, she attended public schools in Fort Smith followed by professional training at Sparks School of Nursing. She worked many years as a registered nurse in New Orleans, Fort Smith, and Fayetteville. Her career ranged from providing patient care to serving as a nursing instructor to its conclusion as a director of nursing. She was active many years supporting her sons' pursuits, was an avid reader, a lover of films, fishing, and the outdoors, and was insatiably curious. She was a proud mother and grandmother. She is survived by son, Ken Carroll and his wife Lisa of Jonesboro, Ark., and son, Chris Carroll and his wife Mary Beth and granddaughters, Sarah Harper and Lindsey Lee of Brentwood, Tenn. She was preceded in death by husband, James Richard Carroll on Feb. 2, 2013. Private services will be held by the immediate family. Arrangements: Epting Funeral Home.
