Terry W. Kuykendall

Terry W. Kuykendall, Doctor of Optometry, age 70, of Benton passed away December 19, 2017. Born June 27, 1947 in Little Rock, he was the son of Ralph Kuykendall and "Sunny" Fendley Kuykendall. A 1965 graduate of Little Rock Central High School, Dr. Kuykendall attended Henderson State University, Memphis State University and was a graduate of Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. He owned and operated Kuykendall Optometric Clinic for 42 years. He was a member of First United Methodist of Benton. He enjoyed horse racing, hunting, the lake and sports. He was very active with his grandchildren, especially their sports. Terry coached his son in youth baseball from ages 5 to 15, winning a state tournament in 1993 traveling to the Little League Regionals. He loved his family dearly. Terry stayed connected with friends from High School , Optometry School and over 40 first cousins He and Sandra traveled with friends to Las Vegas, Saratoga, New York, Florida, California and many other places. They took the oldest grandson on a special trip every summer. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Sandra Pruitt Kuykendall. One son, Kris (Miranda) of Benton; one daughter, Tracy of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, Dana of Little Rock and Dr. Scott of Clarksville; grandchildren, Alex, Kayla, Kourtney, Tanner, Keeley, Kash, Kline;neices Courtney, Coco, Darbie. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 21st at First United Methodist Church in Benton, Ark. Rev Ben Crismon officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
