Bobbie Jean Beckman, 75, of Oakland, Md., passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Garrett Reginal Medical Center, Oakland. Born Aug. 15, 1941, in Little Rock, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Gabe Woodrow and Mary Ellen (Waddle) Seaborn; she was also preceded in death by a son, Russell Cleveland Beckman; a brother, Henry Woodrow Seaborn and a sister, Catherine Ellen Haydon. Bobbie was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Oakland. There she taught Sunday School classes, acted as an AWANA leader and would assist the church in any way she could. Bobbie liked crafting, doing crossword puzzles and playing games. She especially liked spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Gary Gene Beckman Sr.; a son, Gary Gene "Buddy" Beckman Jr. and wife, Kathleen, Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Carla Ellen Tasker and husband, Clifford, Oakland; grandchildren, Gary Gene Beckman III, Jenna Marie Elliott, her two children, Riley Marie Elliott and Parker Allen Elliott, Shannon May Roufail, Codie Russell Beckman, Tyler James Tasker, Brooke Ellen Tasker and Brandi Michelle Tasker; step grandchildren, Mitchell Alan Tasker, Charise Nichole Tasker and her son, Hoyt Christopher Miller; a beloved niece, Tina McIntosh, Mayflower, Ark., and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Friday, Feb., 17, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Wally Weeks officiating. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad.
