Arguster Thomes

ARGUSTER M. NEWSOME THOMAS, 75, of Little Rock, Ark., was born in Monroe, La., on Feb. 22, 1941 and went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by parents, Arguster R. Newsome and Emma Jones as well as four brothers and ten sisters. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jimmy R. Newsome Sr. (Brenda), James Newsome, Sam Thomas, Cynthia Belin, (Michael) and Sherry Thomas, (Bobby). Other survivors include her sister Jearlean Archie and eleven grand children and nine great grand children and a host of extended family and friends. She had a very meek, quiet and loving personality. She enjoyed listening to church sermons and old fashioned gospel music. She was a very strong woman who believed in taking care of business along with taking care of her children's daily needs. She was well loved and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Grace Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 3321 S. Gains St. in Little Rock, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. M. O. Carter. Burial will follow at Heaven of Rest Cemetery in Little Rock.
