Frank G. Pirnique

Frank G. Pirnique, 79, of Palouse, Wash. passed away June 29, 2017 at his Palouse home. Frank was born August 15, 1937 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Alphonse & Frances (Gray) Pirnique. He grew up in Arkansas and received his education there. Frank was an accomplished swimmer growing up and swam for Jimmy Miller at the Boys Club in Little Rock, Ark. He attended Northwestern State University in Louisiana where he earned his BS and Master's degrees in Mathematics Frank was an accomplished swimmer and continued competitive swimming while in college. In the backstroke he had the 8th best time nationally, qualifying him for the Olympic Trials. Franks involvement in the Boy Scouts was of great importance in his life and he was very proud of earning his Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow. He spoke often about the experiences and how he achieved his Eagle Scout. Frank taught in Little Rock at the Jr. College and the University Of Arkansas Medical Center. Frank moved to Seattle and worked for a number of years for Boeing. In 1968 he moved to Pullman, WA where he had a career at Washington State University as a systems analyst for 33 years. He provided expert assistance in an array of programming and computer skills procedures. Frank assisted graduate students in completing their Master's Thesis & Doctoral Dissertation research. He was always very welcoming to students and spent as much time with them as was needed. Frank married Mary Bennett in 1970 in Pullman and together they have made their home at the family acreage outside of Palouse. Frank had a unique love of the outdoors. For over 38 years his jet boat took him into Hells Canyon in the spring, summer and fall. The family calendar rotated around what the outdoors had to offer. He was an avid bird hunter with his beloved dogs. Frank enjoyed deer & elk hunting, fishing, especially in Kodiak, Alaska, Dahl Sheep hunts in the NW Territories of Canada and snow skiing in McCall, ID and Grand Targhee, Wyoming. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary at the family home outside Palouse, Wash.; his daughter, Kristi Pirnique-Kozney (Scott) of Arvada, Colo.; three grandchildren, Ryanne, Hunter & Audrey Kozney; his brother, Allan (Jane) Pirnique of El Dorado, Ark.; step-sister Carol (Alf) Williams of Little Rock, Ark.; his nieces and nephews, Amy & Gray Williams; David and Michael Pirnique and two cousins, Sandy Gray & Gray Dillenger. At Frank's request no public services will be held. Kimball Funeral Home and Crematory of Pullman, Wash. have been entrusted with arrangements.
