Wanda "Faye" Sanders McLelland

Wanda "Faye" Sanders McLelland, age 87, of Prairie Grove, Ark., died on July 25, 2017 of kidney failure and complications associated with Alzheimer's disease. Faye was born in Sitka, Ark., on Dec. 10, 1929 to Grover and Pernie Maude Sanders. She was a life-long resident of Little Rock, Ark., where she raised her four children in the admonition of the Lord. She worked in the Vital Records area for the Arkansas Department of Health for 35 years where she finally retired at the young age of 82. She was a long time member of Central Baptist Church in Little Rock, Ark. Faye is survived by her four children, Steve McLelland, Tim McLelland (Debbie) of Little Rock, Ark., Rebecca Fess-McLelland of Fayetteville, Ark., and John McLelland (Michelle) of North Little Rock, Ark. She was blessed with caring grandchildren who also survived her, including: Joshua Fess, Olivia Fess, Orbre Fess, Luke Fess, Samuel McLelland, and Sarah McLelland and sole great-grandson, Rhett Pyle, son of Olivia Fess, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sister, Nettie Mae Barnett; brother, Orbra Kellogg Sanders; and husband of 18 years, Douglas Harold McLelland. Visitation to be held at Roller Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, Ark., on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, Ark., with Reverend Ken Shaddox, of Park Hill Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Ark.,officiating.
