Andy Farris Aldridge, 88, passed from this life on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his home with his family. He was born July 13, 1928 in the Pleasant Ridge Community, Cleburne County, Arkansas to Andy and Lola Bittle Aldridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Aaron Aldridge; sister, Myra Aldridge Jobe and great-grandson, Shawn Smith. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth; sons, John Phillip and wife, Mary of Conway, Stephen Andrew and wife Susanne of Springdale; grandchildren, Ashley Smith (Brian), Joshua Aldridge (Nicole) of Conway, Bobby Aldridge (Tammy) of Ft. Smith, Stephanie Luttrell (Mike) of Springdale; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Taylor, Heidi, Drew, Whitney, Clayton, Jackson, Andrew, Skylar and Kyla. Andy was of the Christian faith since 1943. He was an active member of Park Hill Baptist Church, Gideons International, a support member of Wycliffe Bible Translators, and is entered in The Arkansas Veterans' Hall of Fame. Andy lived his life by the Marine Corps creed of Semper Fidelis. He was always faithful to God, to his family, and to his country. Andy was a retired Marine, who saw active duty in the Korean War and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of the Arkansas State Teachers College (currently UCA) in Conway, and the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville. He was a former teacher at North Little Rock High School, and an administrator with Little Rock School District and Cabot School District until retirement. Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church or Gideons International. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 9th at Park Hill Baptist Church with a visitation one hour prior to service.
