Jerry Lee Hope, 72, Harrison, passed away peacefully March 6, 2017, at his home after a long battle with congestive heart failure. Jerry was born December 1, 1944, in Little Rock, the son of Roy Woodson and Kathleen Mae (Morton) Hope. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Anita Kaye Pinkerton; twin brother, Larry David Hope; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jerry is survived by his devoted, loving wife of 48 years, Sharon Lee Hope, of Hasty; daughters, Cindy Hope Linn and husband Dr. Brian Linn and Melissa Hope Johnston and husband Bryan Johnston; grandsons, Darren Johnston, Codey Johnston and Zachary Linn, all of Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jerry retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 28 years as a boiler-maker. He was a creative and talented welder. If he could not do a job right, he just did not do it! His joy in life was his three precious grandsons and any time he could spend time with his buddies hunting and fishing. A fish fry for family and friends or a home cooked meal with vegetables from Jerry's incredible garden were a source of pride for him. He will be remembered as an avid hunter, fisherman and all around outdoorsman who had many friends, most of them life-long. His many talents, simple approach to life and funny sense of humor will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him. Funeral service is 2p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home in Little Rock, with visitation one hour prior to the service, with Bro. Tommy Walker officiating. Graveside service 11a.m., Monday, March 13, 2017, at Sand Hill Cemetery, Yardelle, Ark., with Bro. Derwin Martin officiating. Arrangements by Roller-Christeson Funeral Home, Harrison, Ark.
