Mary Ruth Harmon

Mary Ruth Harmon, 87, of Huntsville, Ark., died March 16, 2017 at the Northwest Medical Center of Springdale. She was born April 9. 1929 at Kingston, Ark., the daughter of Hubert H. and Etta M. Griggs Thomas. She was a devout Christian woman and the widow of Woodrow Harmon whom she married on May 3, 1946 and who preceded her in death on June 19, 1972. She was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas Harmon, her parents, three brothers, James Clyde Thomas, William Clell Thomas and Hubert Lloyd Thomas; four sisters, Martha Elsie Thomas Brown, Goldie Gertrude Thomas Laningham, Ruby Mae Hammons and Betsy Kathleen Thomas; one grandson, Justin Harmon and one great-grandson, Landon Hollowell. Survivors include: three sons and four daughters-in-laws, Charles and Carol Harmon of Lowell, Ark., Woodrow "Butch" and Deb Harmon of Huntsville, Ark., Danny and Kathy Harmon of Springdale, Ark., and Sherylene Harmon of Elkins, Ark.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carol and Lonnie Shackelford of Fayetteville, Ark., and Wanda McCoy of Huntsville, Ark.; one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Gene Taylor of Fayetteville, Ark.; three sisters-in-law, Francis Thomas of Bentonville, Ark., Rose Thomas of Green Forest, Ark., and Linda Mae Thomas of Huntsville, Ark.; twenty grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Services 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Gary Faulkner officiating. Interment Alabam Cemetery by Brashears Funeral Home-Huntsville www.brashearsfuneralhome.net. Pallbearers will be: Thomas Kirkland, Mikey Srader, Travis Harmon, Trent Harmon, Jeremy Harmon, Bradley Hollowell, Dwaynn Srader, Shane McCoy and Nathaniel Harmon. Honorary pallbearers will be: Danny Harmon, Charles Harmon and Woodrow "Butch" Harmon. Visitation 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Brashears.
