Catherine Cox Kennedy, 85, received her angel wings on May 1, 2017, in Little Rock, Arkansas, while surrounded by her loving family. Cathy was born May 12, 1931 in Hope. She grew up in Fulton and was a long time resident of Pine Bluff. Cathy was a graduate of Hope High School, attended Belhaven Women's College in Jackson, Mississippi and then transferred to The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she graduated with a business degree was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Pine Bluff, the Hawthorne Book Club, PEO, The Junior League of Pine Bluff, a dedicated volunteer at Neighbor to Neighbor Foodbank and an avid tennis player. Her greatest pleasure was being a hostess and sharing her love of cooking with her family and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, Herbert and Lanie Cox; her brother, James Cox; her sister, Nancy Tommey; and her son, Phil Faulkner. Survivors include loving husband, James W. Kennedy, of 44 years; her sister, Myra Wylie (Charles William) of Hope; her daughters, Brianne Bush and Lisa Breau (Randy) of Little Rock; her daughter-in-law, Sue Faulkner of Little Rock; her step-daughter, Beegee Hunt (David) of Springdale; her step-son, Jim Kennedy, Jr. of San Francisco, California; her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as "MiMi", Alex Bush (Nicki), of New York, New York, Mackenzie Bush, Christopher Faulkner, Hannah Breau, and Connor Breau, all of Little Rock; her step-grandchildren, Katy Ryan (Tom) of Kansas City, Missouri, David Hunt, Jr. (Bethany) , Jamie Hunt (Jessica), all of Springdale, Will Hunt (Alex) of Rogers, 10 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. The Kennedy family would like to especially thank her caregivers Edith Chandler, Alice Woods, Precious Word and Emma Gilcrease for their many hours of love, care and devotion. A private service will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium Courtyard in Pine Bluff, Saturday, May 6, 2017, with the Rev. Dr. Walter Van Zandt Windsor officiating. A celebration of Cathy's life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in the Parish Hall in Pine Bluff on Saturday, May 6th at 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Cathy's honor to Trinity Episcopal Church, 703 West 3rd Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 71601, or to the charity of your choice.
