World War II Veteran, James H Grooms, 92, of Cabot, formerly of Paragould, left this earth for his heavenly home on May 3, 2017. He was a Lions Club member and a past District Governor. He was a Paragould Volunteer Fireman, owner of Western Auto Store, Paragould Bulldog booster and a member of First Baptist Church of Paragould, where he served as a deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mildred Ruffin Grooms. He is survived by his daughter, JoAnna (Dale) Calhoon; son, Bobby (Judy) Grooms; seven grandchildren, Jim (Laura) Calhoon, Brian (Renee) Calhoon, Tiffany (Mark) Crafton, Grant (Casey) Calhoon, Shea (Jeremy) Ross, Trey (Stephanie) Grooms and Jay (Pamela) Grooms; 17 great-grandchildren; sister in law, Betty Jo Bailey; and many nieces and nephews. He served his Lord faithfully and was loved dearly by his family. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Monday from 10-11 a.m. at Heath Funeral Home in Paragould with his life celebrations service at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Jim Calhoon officiating.
