Bertha Mae Marshall, 77, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2017. She was born on October 6, 1939 at home by a mid-wife in Holly Springs, Arkansas to the late Adolph Parham and Alpha Marshall. Bertha Mae professed her belief in Christ in 1977 at St. Johns Baptist Church, East 6th Street in Little Rock. The last eight years, Bertha has been in school learning God, Jesus and Jehovah. The last church she attended was Soul Winning Church of God In Christ, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Bertha received her early education at Holly Springs Elementary in Holly Springs then moved to Little Rock in 1953, continuing education at Dunbar Elementary and graduating from Horace Mann High School in 1959-1960. Bertha Mae was employed by St. Vincent Infirmary from May 10, 1972 to April 2008, when she retired. Bertha loved her job interacting with people. She was very family oriented, entertaining, was a comedian, dancer and loved showing out for family. She made you laugh at all times. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and seeing them would uplift her day no matter what type of day she was having. Bertha Mae was preceded in death by her parents; and her eldest sister, Cora Mae Mays. She leaves to cherish her home going and memories one brother, James Allen Marshall; her baby sister, Eddie Jo Williamson, both of Little Rock; three sons, Reginald Moore, of Little Rock, Derrick (Angel) Marshall of North Little Rock and Rickey (Cecile) Madden of Conway; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many devoted friends and loved ones. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elmlawn Cemetery.
