God in his divine wisdom called Pastor JOHNNIE BENJAMIN NUNLEY to his heavenly home on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Pastor Nunley was born April 10, 1937 in Eldorado, Ark., to the late Allen Nunley Sr., and Mrs. Onie Garrett-Nunley. He was the third of six boys. He accepted Christ as a young boy and worked in the church teaching Sunday school, serving as the superintendent, and other positions. He attended Washington High School in El Dorado, Ark. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology from Arkansas Baptist College. He served in the United States Air Force and was a Senior Airman in the Arkansas Air National Guard where he received the Arkansas Commendation Medal for exceptionally meritorious service in the performance of outstanding service. Pastor Nunley lived a life of service to others and the Lord. His ministry spanning 37 years included, pastoring, counseling and serving as Pulaski County Justice of the Peace. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Nunley Sr., mother, Onie Frances Garrett-Nunley; and three sisters, Leola Davis, Mardell Aldridge, and Nellie Nunley. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Emma Jean Turner-Nunley, daughters, Cynthia Nunley-Grayer, Christie Nunley-Mitchell, both of Cordova, Tenn.; grandchildren, Porscha Grayer, Jordan Grayer, Claire Grayer, Maya Mitchell, Lauren Mitchell; brothers George Nunley, Booker Nunley, Franklin Nunley, Allen Nunley, Henry Nunley; sister, Viola Palmer, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
