Thelma Louise (Williams) Muldrow was born October 1, 1946 and passed away after a long battle with multiple sclerosis on September 8, 2017 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Muldrow was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was the second child to Clayborne Williams and Gladys Belmont. At the age of seven, she and her brothers moved to Little Rock, Ark. to live with their fraternal grandmother after the death of their mother. Mrs Muldrow began her education at Gibbs Elementary School followed by Dunbar Junior High School and graduated from Horace Mann High School in 1965. She later attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Louise, as Mrs Muldrow was most fondly called by her relatives, was very involved in church as a child and young adult. She was a member at Bullocks Temple CME and later became the church secretary. Louise was joined in matrimony to Owen Muldrow Sr. From this union, they were blessed with two successful children, Tiffani and Owen Jr. Louise was a dutiful mother, wife, and sister. After the death of Owen Sr., she devoted her life to her children which led to them both surpassing the limits of academic success. Owen Jr., said his mother always knew how to motivate him and remembers her most for her declaration that if he did not go to college he would have to pay bills and pay rent to live at the house. Louise had many interests that included cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and also singing. Some of her favorite interests were reading and enjoying Oprah Winfrey media. Louise was a factory worker for the majority of her career at the company Philips Lighting (formerly Westinghouse). She retired from Philips Lighting after 30 years of service. After becoming ill, Louise lived with her daughter Tiffany in New Mexico and Texas and later moved to assisted living while in Texas. Louise was provided the best possible quality of life through her illness. Louise passed away shortly after relocating to North Carolina. Louise will always be remembered for her diligent work ethic, her smile, her strength, and her tenacity. Mrs. Muldrow was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband, Owen Muldrow Sr., and brother, Clayborne Williams II. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Tiffani Williams, son Owen Muldrow Jr., and granddaughter Raelenn Muldrow. She is also survived by her brothers, Sidney Williams and Marvin (Wrevea) Williams Sr., nephews, Leslie Williams and Marvin Williams Jr., nieces, Sher're Williams, Shaunte Williams, and Ketia Williams and many other family and friends. A memorial service for Mrs Muldrow will be held on November 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Clayton Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 215 Manson Rd., Sherwood, Ark. 72120 officiated by Rev Pernell Maxwell, Pastor.
