Emma Spencer, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at The Homestead of Sherman. Mrs. Spencer was a retired professor of sociology from Texarkana College. She was born, January 3, 1933, in Lonoke, Ark., to Henry and Gladys McCallister Tomlinson. Her parents; her sister; Polly Trickey; and a brother, Sonny Tomlinson, preceded her in death. The family will receive friends one hour before service time at Clarksville Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Clarksville Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Jesse Spencer of Searcy, Ark.; two sons, Keith Larey of Sherman, and David Larey of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Kevin Larey and wife, Angela of New Orleans, La., Denise Larey Gonzales and husband, Adrian of Altus, Okla., and Cameron Larey of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Anabelle Larey of Knoxville, Tenn., and Adrian Gonzales Jr., of Altus, Okla.; one brother, Walter Tomlinson and wife, Barbara of Lake Providence, La.; her sister, Martha Howard and husband, Wilbur of Texarkana, Ark.; and her niece and nephew, Heather and John Howard of London, UK.
