Laverne Milton Bader

LAVERNE "VERNE" MILTON BADER, 83, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 23, 2017. Born Aug. 12, 1934 in Washburn, N.D., to Johanna and Christian Bader. He survived by his wife, Judy Clement Bader and two sons, Steven Clement Bader and Philip Park Bader Sr., four grandchildren, Philip Park Bader Jr., Charlotte Summer Sharrar, Callie Hall Bader and Samantha Lucy Bader, two brothers Orland Bader, James Bader, and one sister Jane Peterson. He was proceeded in death by one brother, Leroy Bader and two sisters, Delores Banta and Elaine Smith. He served in the US Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He was married to Judy Clement on Dec. 15, 1956 at the Jacksonville Air Force Base Chapel. He graduated from the University of Arkansas Little Rock Suma Cum Laude in 1961. In 1976m he formed The Bader Insurance Agency and retired in 1996. Verne was a generous man who dedicated his life to his family and his church. He had a heart for the Lord and loved to share his faith and had a heart for missions. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church Missions fund or Alzheimer's Arkansas. Verne will be laying in state Tuesday, Nov. 28 from 1-4 p.m., at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke, Ark. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017 at Concord Cemetery, Furlow Ark. Family visitation will be at Covenant Presbyterian Church 1 Covenant Drive, Little Rock from 1-2 p.m., with a memorial service following at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke www.boydfuneralhome.net.
