Shirley Kay Armellini Thomasson

Shirley Kay Armellini Thomasson of Plano, Texas peacefully passed away on August 25, 2017 at Seasons Hospice at Dallas Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on August 23, 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. to Margaret C. and Ferdinand F. Armellini. Shirley graduated from Mount St. Mary's Academy in Little Rock and later attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway where she lettered in swimming and the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. She was employed by Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. On March 6, 1976, atop Petite Jean Mountain in Morrilton, Ark., she entered into Holy Matrimony with James L. Thomasson of Warren, Ark. She and Jim lived for a time in Little Rock, Dearborn, Mich. and Warren, Ark. before moving to Plano, in 1985 where they established and ran Armscott Heat & AC. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy L. and Lindsey Thomasson of Princeton, Texas, son James C. Thomasson of Plano, grandchildren, Sydney, Lana, and Jackson, brother and sister-in-law Rick and Sara Armellini of Eureka Springs, Ark., sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Diane and Jim Jolly of Little Rock, Ark., Bill and Sue Thomasson of Pratt, Kan. and Carolyn Worsham of Conroe, Texas, cousin, Janie and Randy Gresham of Clarksville, Ark., many nieces and nephews and two special friends she called sisters, Gwen Hoffman of Delaware, Ark. and Billie Owens of Cypress, Texas. Shirley dearly treasured her family and friends most of all; some of her other favorite things included the Beatles, Arkansas tomatoes, antique stores and garage sales, daisies, good cheeseburgers, and going on adventures with her ‘sisters'. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A celebration of her life, attended by her family, friends and co-workers, was held in the chapel of Dallas Presbyterian Hospital on September 3rd, 2017. Memorial donations may be made to the Texas Kidney Foundation in San Antonio.
