Kenneth "Ken" Earl Moore

Kenneth "Ken" Earl Moore, 76, of Bella Vista, Ark passed away Oct. 3, 2017 after a courageous three year battle from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and stage 4 cancer. Ken was born Feb. 12, 1941 to Rodney and Mary Moore in Dallas, Texas. Survivors include his sister, Betty Bennett and brother-in-law, Bill Bennett of Bella Vista. Ark.; brother, Hansel Moore of Austin, Texas; and two nephews, Paul Bennett of Bella Vista and Mark Bennett of Arlington, Texas. His parents, R.D. Moore and Mary Ruth Moore, preceded him in death. Ken served in the army during the Vietnam War. He functioned as a legal assistant in the court martial court in Nurnberg, Germany. During his three year stint in the army, he enjoyed many adventurous travels in Europe. Upon returning to the states, Ken worked as a supervisor for many years at the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Co. When he retired, he moved to Bella Vista to be near his family and to fish the beautiful lakes of Bella Vista. Ken was an avid fisherman and great nature lover. He was a kind, quiet, brave, complex, happy and generous man. Two weeks before Ken's death he experienced a stunning religious conversion and was baptized by Rev. Stan Jones of Bella Vista Lutheran Church. He died quietly with his sister at his side at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. By his request, no services are planned. Memorials may be made to the ALS Association or to Bella Vista Lutheran Church. Arrangements are by Bella Vista Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.
