Ed Brown, 89, of Marianna passed Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Batesville. Lawrence Edward (Ed) Brown was born March 14, 1928 to Pat and Cecilia Brown of Arkansas City, Arkansas. Marcelle McClintock, his wife of 62 years, his parents, and his brother Bill Brown preceded him in death. Ed is survived by his three children, Larry (Teresa) of Batesville; Pat (Connie) of Houston, Texas; and Janet (Randy Northcutt) of Forrest City. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren Thomas Brown (Lori) of Lake Charles, La.; Justin Northcutt (Jodi) of Lowell, Ark.; Drew Brown (Christina) of Lake Charles, La.; Curtis Northcutt (Natalie) of Prairie Grove, Ark.; Tice Brown (Sarah Katz) of New York City, N.Y.; Ben Brown (Hali) of Lake Charles, La.; Clare Brown of Little Rock, Ark.; Jared Northcutt (Kathryn) of North Little Rock, Ark.; Chris Brown of Guinea, Africa; Jordan Northcutt of Little Rock, Ark.; Emily Holder of Nanjing, China; Katie Brown of Tyler, Texas. Ed is also survived by seven great-grandchildren Will, Louis and Simon (Thomas's); Stella and Sadie (Justin's); Gabe (Ben's) and spring 2018 baby boy (Curtis's). He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Marianna. He owned and operated Marianna Laundry & Dry Cleaners for 45 years. Ed served on the Marianna City Council as alderman of Ward 1 for 45 years. He was a member of Arkansas National Guard for 21 years and was past commander of the Marianna Unit. Ed was past president of the Marianna Country Club and past president of the Marianna Lions Club. In addition, he played in local bands including "Rhythm Ramblers," "Marianna Clown Band," "3 of a Kind" and "The Music Makers." He was an awesome Dad and PopPop to his children and their families. Ed was known for his passion for Razorback sports, especially basketball. Services will be both at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Batesville Sunday, January 21 at 4 p.m.; and at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Marianna on Saturday, January 27 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Marianna Memorial Park.
