James "Jim" Donald Montgomery, 63, of Panama City, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on 28 June 2018. He was born 21 March 1955 in Little Rock, Ark. His spirit is carried on by his daughter and an extended family of relatives and friends from every walk of life. We were all blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Jim during his short 63 years: how to drive the boat and find the fish; how to be a character in your own right; and live life to the fullest. While often described as a gruff man, Jim never lacked generosity or a good story and he never met a stranger. He worked in Nuclear Medicine but his true passions were fishing, photography, tinkering and spending time with his friends in Pensacola. He had a lot of accomplishments in life but he always said the one thing he lived for was his pride and joy – his daughter Brooke. He is survived by his mother, Nona, daughter, Brooke Haley (Jay), brother, Robert (Lori), nieces, Cydney and Erin, and nephew, Landon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Special Olympics. James' life was celebrated on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Heritage Funeral Home in Panama City. A private ocean burial will be held at a later date. Those wishing to extend condolences may do so at www.heritagefhllc.com.
