Jeanette Jump Burris

Jeanette Jump Burris was born March 10, 1919 to Zada Rasberry Jump and Eugene Jump of Little Rock. Her parents, grandparents and she moved to the home in East End when she was 10 years old. Jeanette graduated Little Rock High School and worked part time in her grandmother's fur shop. She was President of the Home Demonstration Club and East End PTA. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was a millinery instructor and taught piano lessons for over 40 years, she was an immaculate seamstress and an avid reader. Jeanette had made clothes for her daughter's piano and organ teacher in exchange for lessons. She was a lifetime member of East Union Baptist Church. Jeanette is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband of 69 years, Ralph E. Burris, and one daughter, Lynn Burris Forbush. She is survived by her son, Ronnie (Janice) Burris of Little Rock; one daughter, Arnette Howard of East End; grandson, Randy (Melissa) Burris of Sebastian, Florida; granddaughters, Missy (Robert) Roling of Little Rock; Kristy (Andy) Baumgardner, DJ Goolsby, Lyndsey (Allen) Johnson, and Tandra Griffis all of East End; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She remained close with three sister in loves- Kathryn State; Sue Burris and Jane Smith, many nieces and nephews, special cousins Joe and Mickey McKinstry and her caregiver for the past two years, Stacey Fee along with a host of friends. Visitation will be Friday, June 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at East Union Baptist Church, Springlake Road, East End, Arkansas. Service will be Saturday, June 2 at 11 a.m. at East Union Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in East End. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem Cemetery or East Union Baptist Church. www.griffinleggetthealeyroth.com.
