Travis Caroll Snyder

Travis C. Snyder, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 23, 2018. Travis was born September 4, 1942 in Denver, Colo. to Lamont Benjamin "L.B." and Eula Jean (Crutchfield) Snyder. His family moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas when he was 6. Travis attended Bethany Nazarene College, then University of Arkansas, receiving a bachelor's degree in 1964. Travis joined the United States Marine Corps in 1967 and served in the Vietnam Conflict, completing his service in 1969. He then earned a Master's degree in Chemistry from Louisiana State University in 1970. His career as an Industrial Chemist then took him to Oklahoma, where he remained until his passing. Travis served as a NBC instructor in the US Army Reserves from 1979 until he was ordered to active duty in support of Operation Desert Shield, serving from 1990-1991, after which he retired from military service. Travis is survived by his children, Trevor Snyder and his wife Sara of Edmond, Okla., and Sydney "Syndy" Lynch and her husband Shaun of Frisco, Texas, as well as their mother, Sydney (Arnoult) Snyder of Baton Rouge, La.; and grandchildren, Hannah, Olivia, Taya, and Benjamin Snyder and Kaiser and Kentley Lynch. Travis spent his final years at the Skyview Nursing Home and his family thanks the staff and fellow patients who provided comforting care and warm friendship. Travis will be buried in the Fort Gibson National Veterans Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2018.
