James Davis "Jim" Holland, 62, of Hot Springs, formerly of Little Rock, passed on to Heaven, after a harrowing two year battle with lung cancer, March 1, 2018, his 62nd birthday. Jim was born to the late John and Betty Jefferson Holland in Marshall, Arkansas, who raised him in to a loving adult son; an amazing husband to his wife Tama; a caring stepfather to Phillip (Dee), Spencer, and Collin Crotts; an adoring grandfather to Zoie and Candence Crotts; a loyal brother to John (Marilyn)Holland of Rogers, Linda Shaddox of Texas, and Margaret (Richard) Wentworth of Florida; the favorite uncle of Carrie, Mark, Matt, Suzanne, Jessica, Lee and Richard; the best friend of James (Robyn) Elbert; and a trusted friend to many lovely people too numerous to name. Jim and his wife, Tama, were inseparable, adored and were grateful for one another every day. He was dearly loved and his sudden absence overwhelming. A graduate of the University of Fayetteville with both a BA and a law degree, Jim worked for Hawker Beechcraft for over 20 years. He will be remembered as a Razorback fan, a colorful debater, an outdoorsman who loved to camp and fish, a creative talent in the kitchen, but especially as an optimist who looked to the best in any situation and who somehow managed to still laugh and love during the last painful months of his life. Jim was greeted in Heaven by his parents and his nephew, Todd Shaddox. A Memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday, March 11,2018 at St. Mary of the Springs Catholic Church Parrish Hall, 100 Central Ave, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim's name to the American Cancer Society. Online guestbook and tributes are available at www.GrossFuneralHome.com.
