Jacqueline Sue (Meriweather) Bass, age 67, of Sherwood, Arkansas, was freed from her long battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, September 30, 2018. She had been in the care of the wonderful staff at Spring Creek Health and Rehab and Arkansas Hospice the last weeks of her life. Jackie was born on October 26, 1950 to W.C. and Winnie Meriweather in Little Rock, Arkansas. She earned two Master's degrees in special education and enjoyed teaching mentally and physically handicapped children for many years at Northwood Jr. High School. She loved the Lord and set an amazing Christian example for all who knew her, teaching and serving in many ways at Highway Baptist and then at Bethel Baptist Church. She dedicated her life also to her three girls and her grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as their "Nai Nai". She is now reunited in Heaven with her mother, Winnie, and her sister, Vicky. She leaves to cherish her memories her father, Cliff, her brother, Michael, her three girls Amy (Julian) Sims, Kimberly (Jon) Haverstick, Amanda (Russell) Recometa, her seven grandbabies Emily, Liam, Noah, Grace, Anna, Jett, and Kate, her best friend Debbie Bowie, and a host of other friends and family. Her life will be celebrated with a remembrance service held Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock and all who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and can choose to wear her favorite color, purple.
