Gregory Stephen Kitterman, 59, of Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at his home. He was born November 5, 1958, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, to Esther Lea Gilkison Kitterman and the late Weldon R. "Blue" Kitterman. In addition to his mother, Greg is survived by his soulmate, the love of his life and wife of 36 years, Susan (Susie) Wren Kitterman; sons, Solomon David Kitterman and Gregory Weldon Kitterman; grandson, Aaron Brookes Kitterman; brother, John S. Kitterman (Marsha); and sister, Toni Kitterman Thrash (Tom), all of Little Rock. Greg is also survived by his in-laws: Evalyn Wren, Amanda Crosby (Scott), Leslie Ward (David), Vincent Wren (Cheryl), Christina Wren, Daniel Wren (Suzanne), Keith Wren (Amy), all of Little Rock; Dr. Allison Shimizu (Craig) of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Chris Wren. Greg attended school in Jonesboro, and graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1977. After graduating from Arkansas State University, he attended law school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, and completed his Juris Doctorate at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Law in 1984. Greg's early years as a practicing attorney were spent as a sole practitioner. In 1992 he built a new law office on Garland Street in downtown Little Rock and continued his practice there alongside his brother and brother-in-law. Although he practiced primarily in Little Rock, he represented clients in most, if not all, Arkansas counties. He was well known among lawyers and judges as an outstanding attorney and presided over many trials as a special judge. While he spent most of his time answering the call to represent others, Greg greatly enjoyed the Arkansas outdoors- relaxing at the lake house on Greer's Ferry, hunting with his sons and friends at his duck camp, Black Acre, or gardening on his farm just west of Little Rock. Greg's almost five year journey with acute myeloid leukemia was a profound testament to God's boundless love, mercy, grace and strength available through His Son, Jesus Christ. God's glory was evident throughout this journey and especially in Greg's final hours. A Rosary will be prayed for Greg on Friday, October 19, at Griffin Leggett Healy & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 West 12th Street in Little Rock at 5:30 p.m. with visitation to follow at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 20, at 11 a.m. at St. Edward Catholic Church, with inurnment immediately following at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Columbarium. Memorials may be made to the Monsignor Allen Trust and Development Fund, 1003 N. Tyler, Little Rock, Ark. 72205, or to the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute, 4301 W. Markham, Little Rock, Ark. 72205. Additionally, a scholarship in Greg's name will be established at the UALR Bowen School of Law. For information, email john@kittermanlawfirm.com.
