Johnny Wayne White, 75, of Star City passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Baptist Health Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1943 in Monticello to the late Newton Havis and Emma Kathryn McFalls White. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Star City and retired after 55 years in manufacturing with Byrd Manufacturing and Levi Strauss and retired from School Apparel on December 31, 2016. He was a graduate of Star City High School and attended UAM. He loved fishing and hunting with his grandsons. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Kathryn White; three sons, Greg Wayne (Joyce) White, Scotty (Tammy) White and Jon Kelly (Jamison) White, all of Star City; two brothers, Jerry (Cherry) White of Conway and Danny Paul (Mary) White of Star City; one. sister, Lane White (Skipper) Burns of Star City; six grandchildren, Dr. Lindsey (Clint) Akin, James Scott (Krissy) White, Austin White, Haley (John) Fults, Emma Grace White and William Jon White; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver Akin and Anna Kate Akin. Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Tyro Cemetery with Bro. Thomas McGriff and Bro. Marcus Rodgers officiating. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Griffin Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers are James Scott White, Austin White, John Fults, Jay White, Sandy Burns, Ricky Gaines and Clint Akin. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Glover, Lanny Meeks, Charles Milligan and Will White.
