Glenda Sue Churchwell

Glenda Churchwell, 58, of Griffithville passed away peacefully at 1:05 a.m. Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Unity Health Advance Care Hospital in Searcy. Glenda was born on October 16, 1959 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to Leon and Marjorie Sladyen. She graduated from England High School in 1978 and received an Associate Degree in Business from the University of Central Arkansas. She worked most of her life for Diversicare Management. In 1984 Glenda moved to the Northside community outside of Des Arc. Her greatest blessings in life were her son, Charles and grandchildren Parker and Noah, whom she adored. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family, spending time with friends and family, and spoiling her grandbabies. She is survived by one son, Charles Churchwell and wife, Megan of Searcy, Arkansas two grandchildren, Parker and Noah Churchwell, her father, Leon Slayden of England, Arkansas, two sisters, Pam Collins and Lisa Tipton and husband, Phil all of England, Arkansas, one brother Marshall Slayden of Conway, Arkansas, several nieces and nephews, a special friend, Kenny Ripper along with many more friends, family and her dog, Sugar. She was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie Sladyen, and brother, Ronnie Vinson. Visitation is Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Garth's Funeral Home in Des Arc. Her funeral service will be on September 16, 2018 at 4 p.m. at Garth's Funeral Home with Linda McIntosh officiating.
