Billie Jo Brewer

Mrs. Billie Jo Brewer, 81, daughter of Lester Lee Ramsey and Francis Mildred Ramsey was born June 6, 1937, in DeWitt, Ark. She was called home to her Lord and Savior quietly and peacefully on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018. She attended the public schools in Arkansas County and professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. She joined Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuttgart, Ark., and was a dedicated member. She served faithfully as a Bible school teacher, member of the Calvary Missionary Ministry and helped with the youth. Billie Joe was united in holy matrimony to Claude H. Brewer of Stuttgart on Sept. 28, 1953. The union was blessed with one son, Jerry Don Brewer. Claude preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2017, and Jerry Don preceded her in death on June 3, 2016. Billie Jo loved to make gardens, can fresh vegetables, crochet, quilt and was famous for her German chocolate cakes and pecan pies. She provided a wonderful home for her husband and son. She spent her life caring and supporting her family and friends. She had a generous spirit and a pleasant personality, and was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved to grow. Her gracious influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Besides her parents, husband and son, she was preceded in death by brother, Vernon Dale Ramsey; and sister, Bobbie Sue Hornbeck. She is survived by a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of those who knew her. Her family would like to thank Home Care Professionals Arkansas- Sheridan and for the loving and professional care given to her by all of her home caregivers. We are so very blessed and thankful for each of you. Also Hospice Home Care of Pine Bluff, Dr. Marion Hord, Dr. Chris Morgan and Dr. Dennis Yelvington. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday with funeral services at 11 a.m. at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and burial following in Bayou Meto Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home of Stuttgart. In lieu of flowers, Billie Jo has requested any memorial to go to Bayou Meto Cemetery or to her beloved church, Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
